Council Takes Over Management of Coronation Hall

SOMERSET Regional Council has taken over management of Coronation Hall at Somerset Village.

The popular Council owned facility has, since 2001, been managed by a volunteer committee, the Somerset Dam and District Progress Association.

Use of the rustic hall has significantly increased in recent years and is now a popular event venue, used predominately for weddings.

Somerset Mayor Graeme Lehmann expressed his gratitude to all members of the committee over the past 16 years.

“Their dedication and commitment over the years has been instrumental in the growth and popularity of this venue in Somerset and for that we are grateful,” Cr Lehmann said.

“The change in management from a volunteer association to Council will not impact scheduled or planned events or functions at Coronation Hall.

“Council is committed to ensuring the handover is as seamless as possible and that no events will be impacted by the change in management.”

All (existing and future) bookings and enquiries can be made by phoning Somerset Regional Council on 5424 4000.
