Families Enjoy Teddy Bears Picnic

THE third annual Teddy Bears Picnic, held at Toogoolawah, at the weekend was a hit with families.

About 200 people attended the event organised by Somerset Regional Council.

The event coincided with Queensland’s Child Protection Week and was about encouraging families to get together, enjoy the great outdoors and get involved in their community.

Somerset Regional Council Mayor Graeme Lehmann said the event was all about bringing the community together to enjoy a family day out.

“It is always great to see mums and dads, grandparents or carers bring children out to enjoy these free family activities on offer in our community,” Cr Lehmann said.

There were plenty of activities on offer for everyone to enjoy including face painting, a petting zoo, jumping castle and about 20 community stalls.
