Inaugural Mayoral Gala Charity Ball a Huge Success

THE inaugural Mayoral Gala Charity Ball held at the Somerset Civic Centre in Esk on Saturday evening was a huge success.

The evening, organised by Somerset Regional Council, was attended by 200 guests who were treated to red carpet glitz and glamour celebrating the Golden Era of Hollywood.

The black tie event was held to raise money for charity with all profits raised from the event being held in trust by Council to support charities that assist people suffering from disability, homelessness, trauma, abuse or neglect in the Somerset region.

Somerset Regional Council Mayor Graeme Lehmann said the evening was a huge success.

"The support and generosity from the community was overwhelming and for that we are very appreciative," Cr Lehmann said.

"I would like to once again thank all our sponsors including our major event sponsors, LJ Hooker Esk, Lowood and Fernvale Community Bank Branch Bendigo Bank, Kilcoy Pastoral Company and King and Company Solicitors."

"A & M Civil, Queensland Urban Utilities, Zanows Concrete and Quarries, Aaction Traffic Control and Ray White Rural Esk at Toogoolawah also came on board as sponsors."

Cr Lehmann said it was great to have members of parliament, Deb Frecklington and Shayne Neumann in attendance at the event showing their support.

"Council is very appreciative of all the support from the community in Somerset who helped make this event a huge success. Every little bit helps," he said.

"Somerset residents are renowned for their generosity and support of charities and this event was a showcase of this positive community spirit."

"From the bottom of my heart I thank everyone for their involvement in making this year’s event a success."
