Inaugural Mayoral Gala Charity Ball Well Supported

THE Inaugural Mayoral Gala Charity Ball is shaping up to be a huge success with the support of businesses in and around Somerset.

The black-tie event will be held at the Somerset Civic Centre at Esk on Saturday, 9 September from 6pm to midnight and will feature a three course meal, beverages, dancing, live entertainment, auctions and much more. Tickets for the event are a bargain at $100 per person.

All profits raised from the event will be held in trust by Council and will support charities that assist people suffering from disability, homelessness, trauma, abuse or neglect in the Somerset region.

LJ Hooker Esk, Lowood and Fernvale Community Bank Branch Bendigo Bank, Kilcoy Pastoral Company and King and Company Solicitors have all come on board as event sponsors, each contributing $5000 to charity.

Somerset Regional Council Mayor Graeme Lehmann said it was the first time in his more than 20 years in local government that Council had hosted such an event.

“This charity ball is a first for Somerset and is all about raising money for charity and getting the community together for a great night out while supporting those in need,” Cr Lehmann said.

“The support from the business community for this event has been fantastic and we are so grateful for the support of the businesses that have come on board to sponsor this inaugural event.”

A & M Civil Contracting and Queensland Urban Utilities have come on board as gold sponsors of the event and Zanows Concrete and Quarries, Aaction Traffic Control and Ray White Rural Esk at Toogoolawah have all come on board as silver sponsors.

“Council would like to thank all of the sponsors for helping to make this event a huge success.”

Cr Lehmann encouraged everyone to get involved and book tickets to the ball.

“This will be a fantastic event for our community and a great night out in Somerset,” he said.

Tickets are available online from www.somerset.qld.gov.au or by phoning Council on 5424 4000.
