Lowood Gains Top Notch Outdoor Gym
CONSTRUCTION of a 10-piece outdoor gym has finished in Clock Park, Lowood providing additional recreational opportunities for residents in an already popular park.
The installation of the realSpaces outdoor gym features a hand bike, cross trainer, leg press, bench for weights and leg lifts, plus assisted pull up and other exercise equipment allowing people to do a whole of body workout.
Mayor Graeme Lehmann said Council supported active and healthy lifestyles in Somerset and encouraged people to make good use of the new gym.
“Council feels this high quality equipment will be enjoyed and well utilised by the community,” Cr Lehmann said.
The Great Outdoor Gym Company constructed the gym for $62,700 with Real Insurance funding half of the project at $31,350 and Bendigo Bank and Council each contributing $15,675 toward the project.
“We are very thankful for the significant contribution made by Real Insurance. This installation would not have been possible without its significant support, nor that of Bendigo Bank.” Cr Lehmann said.
“This collaboration provides genuine investment in the Lowood community that generations to come will benefit from.”
Council will consider installing lights for evening use and a shade structure in the future.
