New Art Exhibition Focuses on Somerset

A THOUGHT provoking art exhibit that focuses on Somerset and how it is viewed through the eyes of artists is now on display at the Somerset Regional Art Gallery – The Condensery in Toogoolawah.

Somerset residents are invited to a special opening of the exhibit, In Response to Somerset, on Saturday, 21 April from 1pm to 3pm.

The exhibit by artist group, de-Habitus, features a variety of work from artists Jacinta Giles, Carolyn Stubbin, Kazmin Samia, Morgan Louise Anderson, Nicola Garrett, Michelle Stemm, Gail Johnston.

Artists will be at the opening on Saturday afternoon to speak to residents about their collection.

The exhibit features various mediums including photography, drawings, print making, jewellery, sculptural objects and more.

Bookings for the free opening event are essential and can be made by phoning Somerset Regional Council, who manages the gallery, before Wednesday, 18 April on 5424 4000 or the gallery directly on 5423 1036.

The exhibit will be showcased at 29 Factory Road, Toogoolawah until Sunday, 10 June 2018.

The gallery is open daily from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
