Somerset Christmas Lights Trail Now Available

THE festive season has arrived in Somerset with 39 residents entering Somerset Regional Council’s second annual Somerset Christmas Lights Competition.

Homes and businesses participating in the competition have been encouraged to have their displays turned out nightly until 10pm until Wednesday, 26 December 2018.

A full list of properties that form part of the Somerset Christmas Lights Trail and who entered the Somerset Christmas Lights Competition is available from Council’s customer service centres and online at www.somerset.qld.gov.au.

Somerset Regional Council Mayor Graeme Lehmann said it was great to see so many people getting into the spirit of Christmas.

“Christmas light displays bring so much joy to people of all ages and it is fantastic to see residents and businesses getting on board to help spread the joy and put a smile on everyone’s face,” Cr Lehmann said.

“There’s some very impressive displays entered into the competition that are guaranteed to get you into the Christmas spirit.

“A big thank you to all entrants who have taken the time to decorate their homes or businesses and are helping spread the Christmas cheer in Somerset.

“This is the second consecutive year that Council has organised the competition and offered prize money to category winners. It’s all about helping spread the joy of Christmas.”

Weather permitting, judging of the properties will occur the week starting Monday, 3 December 2018 and winners will be announced on Monday, 10 December 2018.
