Last Chance for Volunteers to Register for Event

National Volunteer’s Week will be celebrated in Somerset with a free thank you celebration.

Somerset Regional Council is hosting a celebration at the Somerset Civic Centre in Esk on Thursday, 24 May.

The free celebrations will be held between 9am and 11am and include an exciting entertainment program.

Volunteers who would like to attend the event are encouraged to register with Council early as places are limited to 150 people.

Register before Wednesday, 16 May by phoning Council on 5424 4000.

 

Invitation to New Gallery Exhibition at Toogoolawah

A thought provoking art exhibit focusing on Somerset and how it is viewed through the eyes of artists will soon be on display at the Somerset Regional Art Gallery – The Condensery in Toogoolawah.

Somerset residents are invited to a special opening of the exhibit, In Response to Somerset, on Saturday, 21 April from 1pm to 3pm.

The artists will be at the opening to speak to residents about their collection.

The exhibit will feature various mediums including photography, drawings, print making, jewellery, sculptural objects and more.

Bookings for the free opening event are essential and can be made by phoning Somerset Regional Council, who manages the gallery, before Wednesday, 18 April on 5424 4000 or the gallery directly on 5423 1036.

The exhibit will be showcased at 29 Factory Road, Toogoolawah from Wednesday, 11 April until Sunday, 10 June 2018.
