Somerset Volunteers to Be Rewarded with Free Barbecues

SOMERSET Regional Council invites all Somerset volunteers to attend one of three free barbecues to celebrate International Volunteer Day celebrations on Tuesday, 5 December.

Volunteers will be treated to a free thank you barbecue being held at three locations in Somerset.

The first barbecue will be held near the Fernvale Visitor Information Centre from 8am to 9.30am, the second barbecue will be held in McConnel Park at Toogoolawah from 12pm to 1.30pm and the third will be held near the Kilcoy Visitor Information Centre from 4pm to 5.30pm.

The barbecues are free and open to all Somerset volunteers however volunteers are required to register with Council prior to attending.

Somerset Regional Council Mayor Graeme Lehmann said the International Volunteer Day Celebrations was held by Council to say thank you to all Somerset volunteers.

“Volunteers play such an important role in the Somerset community and Council enjoys rewarding them for their valuable contribution to the region,” Cr Lehmann said.

Volunteers are encouraged to RSVP to Council by 30 November.
