Dump Point to be installed at Fernvale

Travelling just got easier in Fernvale, with Somerset Regional Council accepting an offer from the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia (CMCA), in conjunction with the Queensland Department of Main Roads for a waste water Dump Point to be installed at Clive Street, Fernvale.

Main Roads has provided $100,000 over 2 years for the installation of "Dump-Ezy" Dump Point units throughout the State.

Mobile travellers are not the only people to benefit from the establishment of a new Dump Point - local tourism and the environment are also boosted by such a development.

Campervan Motorhome Club of Australia Manager for Projects, Philip Berry says -

"Having a public Dump Point is an attraction to mobile travellers, and we need to remember that this is the fastest growing segment of the tourism industry in this country."

"Having a Dump Point and providing the necessary rest areas for travellers will encourage them to visit, stay, and spend their dollars in that town with the local businesses."

Dump-Ezy units encourage the disposal of waste in a responsible manner and helps address the associated environmental issues.  The units are attractive and user-friendly, and the CMCA also ensures all Dump Points meet the requirements of every mobile traveller.

A list of current Dump Points throughout Queensland is available in Main Roads' Guide to Queensland Roads map and at the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia website, www.cmca.net.au
