School based trainees for Somerset
Somerset Region Mayor, Cr Graeme Lehmann has encouraged local school students to apply for one of 5 school-based traineeships with the Council.
"As one of the biggest employers in the Region, Council has a role to play in education and training for our local kids," he said.
"We are offering 5 school based traineeships in areas where we have qualified staff."
"Our successful trainees will walk away not just with recognised industry qualifications but invaluable workplace experience and an opportunity to earn points towards their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
Applications for the 48-day per year traineeships in the following areas close 5pm on Friday 30 October 2009:
- Library & Information Services Assistant (based in Kilcoy)
- Administration Assistant (based in Esk)
- Visitor Information Centre Assistant (based in Esk)
- Workshop Mechanic Trainee (based in Esk)
- Parks & Gardens Assistant (based in Esk)
