45 new home sites for Fernvale
Council has conditionally approved a 45-lot residential development adjacent to the Rail Trail and Fernvale Futures Complex at Fernvale with pedestrian linkages to the new Fernvale community shopping centre.

The developer will help contribute towards the construction of recreation facilities in the area including the $4 million joint Council and Australian Government-funded Fernvale Indoor Sports Centre to be completed in June 2010.

Rates auction of Kilcoy farm
Council has scheduled an auction to recover 5 years of rate arrears on a 212 hectare grazing property on three titles at Sheepstation Creek via Kilcoy.

The auction will be held in the Esk library gallery at 1 pm on 13 August 2009.

Desexing rebate available for registered cats
Somerset Regional Council will rebate $20 against the vet fees of registered cat owners who have their cats desexed as a practical step to slow the rate of cat euthanasia in future years.

The Council has set a maximum cat registration fee of $10.
