Roads Roads

Somerset Regional Council is committed to maintaining its vast road network for the region's residents. With more than 1500 kilometres of roads, footpaths and kerb and channeling to maintain, council crews are frequently out and about.

Road works include:

 - Constructing roads, bikeways and footpaths
 - Road shoulders
 - Street sweeping
 - Marking lines on roads
 - Grading rural roads

 - Repairing bridges
 - Drains
 - Bus shelters
 - Off-street parking
 - Quarry operations

Gallanani Creek on Esk Crows Nest Road Gallanani Creek on Esk Crows Nest Road

Council will start replacing the timber bridge over Gallanani Creek on Esk Crows Nest Road at Esk from Thursday, 27 October 2016. 

During construction, there will be a detour in place via a sidetrack and temporary traffic lights will be installed.  There may be some delays during the construction. 

It is proposed that the bridge will be closed until the end of March 2017, subject to weather conditions.
