Following the success of the School Holiday Program Scooter Workshops, and to support active and healthy lifestyles for children and youth in Somerset, Somerset Regional Council are trialling after school scooter workshops at the Lowood and Fernvale Skate Parks.
The workshops will be facilitated by qualified instructor Levi Knight and are fully funded by Somerset Regional Council.
Workshop dates and times are scheduled as follows:
Lowood Skate Park – 3pm-5pm
Fernvale Skate Park – 3.30pm-5.30pm
Workshop 1: 27 August
Workshop 1: 8 October
Workshop 2: 3 September
Workshop 2: 15 October
Workshop 3: 10 September
Workshop 3: 22 October
Workshop 4: 17 September
Workshop 4: 29 October
Workshop 5: 24 September
Workshop 5: 5 November
Please bring your own scooter, helmet and water bottle to each workshop.
Registrations will be taken at the event.
Keeping COVID safe
Please be mindful of COVID-19 restrictions and safety measures when attending the After-School Scooter Workshop events.
Please note that you must not attend the event if:
You have COVID-19 symptoms; stay at home if unwell or have a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue, loss of smell or taste, vomiting, diarrhoea or shortness of breath.
In the last 14 days you have travelled overseas or been in a COVID-19 hotspot.
You have been in close contact with a person who is positive for COVID-19.
You are an active COVID-19 case.
When at events please:
Maintain physical distancing requirements.
Wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitiser.
Complete contact tracing details as required at the individual venue.
If you become unwell during the event, please inform organising staff.
Somerset Regional Council encourages participants to download and register details in the Australian Government COVIDSafe app and to download and use the Check In QLD app as necessary.
