Secure your seat at Mayoral Gala Charity Ball
Forget Vegas, Somerset Regional Council is bringing the casino to you, raising money for local charities.
The third annual Mayoral Gala Charity Ball will take on a Casino Royale theme at Somerset Civic Centre on Saturday, 7 September from 6pm to midnight.
Tickets are $130 each or $1,200 for a table of 10 and include canapés on arrival, a two-course meal, five-hour drinks package, auctions, raffles, casino tables and live entertainment.

Seniors Week celebrations back in Somerset
Celebrate Seniors Week with Somerset Regional Council on Friday, 23 August.
The free event will feature entertainment, trivia, lucky door prizes, information stalls and guest speakers at Somerset Civic Centre, 35 Esk-Hampton Road, Esk.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
Doors open at 9.15am and the program will be held from 9.45am to 1.15pm.

Desex your dog and council will pay the rego
A dog desexing promotion is once again encouraging responsible pet ownership across the Somerset region.
As part of the campaign, Somerset Regional Council will pay the 2019/20 registration fees for all dogs desexed before Thursday, 1 August.
Somerset Mayor Graeme Lehmann said council was proud to present the annual promotion for the sixth year.
“All residents have to do is contact council and provide a copy of the dog desexing certificate along with a signed application form, which is available online, and council will pay the dog registration fees,” Cr Lehmann said.

Anglers encouraged to join Reel Wivenhoe Classic
Anglers are encouraged to register for the second annual Reel Wivenhoe Classic, a non-professional fishing competition at Wivenhoe Dam.
Presented by Somerset Regional Council, the catch, photograph and release event will be held at Captain Logan Campgrounds on 17 and 18 August.
Entry is $75 for adults over 16, $25 for children under 16, and families or teams are $150.
The major prize draw of a boat, motor and trailer package is open to competitors and the general public, and tickets will be available for purchase on site from 7am on Saturday, 17 August.
Have your say on future of Somerset Libraries
Somerset Regional Council is seeking community feedback on the services, facilities and programs offered at its library branches in Esk, Kilcoy, Lowood and Toogoolawah.
Have your say by taking part in the online survey before Sunday, 25 August and you could win one of three iPad and sphero packs valued at $800.
Somerset Mayor Graeme Lehmann said council was committed to reviewing and improving its services in line with community expectations.
“Our libraries cont inue to move beyond books, making the most of digital technology through e-books and e-audio books and presenting programs, workshops, activities and information sessions for the Somerset community,” Cr Lehmann said.
