SIX Somerset sportspeople have been awarded Excellence Bursaries as part of the latest round of funding from Somerset Regional Council.

Rugby union players Isaiah and Moses Armstrong-Ravula join league player Kyle Eastell, state soccer representative Joel Jaremenko, equestrian champion Charlotte Drynan and Pony Club of Australia team member Michayla Cowley as bursary recipients under the Community Assistance Grants program.

Somerset Mayor Graeme Lehmann said council continued to support young sportspeople competing at regional, state and national levels.

“The Armstrong-Ravula brothers and Kyle all represented their region in Toowoomba earlier this month,” Cr Lehmann said.

“Also in August, Michayla was part of the Pony Club of Australia demonstration team that competed in China.

“In October, Joel will play at the Christian Football Federation Australia National Titles in Redcliffe, while Charlotte will ride at the Australian Interschool Equestrian Championships in Sydney.”
