Somerset Regional Council meeting
Somerset Regional Council will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, 9 October at Esk.
The meeting will start at 9am in the Simeon Lord Room at the Esk Library in Heap Street.
Meetings are open to the public, and agendas are available at somerset.qld.gov.au.
Esk pool to reopen this Saturday
Esk Swimming Pool will reopen for the spring and summer seasons this Saturday, 5 October.
The Mary Street pool will be open Monday and Wednesday from 3pm to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10.30am to 3.30pm and public holidays from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
Activities include learn to swim classes, lap swimming and private bookings.

Somerset public holiday closures
Customer service centres, libraries, refuse and recycling centres and depots across the Somerset Regional Council area will be closed on Monday, 7 October for the Queen’s Birthday public holiday.
Visitor information centres in Fernvale, Esk, Toogoolawah and Kilcoy will remain open.
Eclectic exhibition opens in Esk
A new exhibition featuring the work of expressionist artist Stephanie Mann is now on show at Glen Rock Gallery in Esk.
From paintings and sculptures to woodcarvings and hand-bound books, the eclectic collection is a celebration of craft, colour and character.
Glen Rock Gallery is at 82 Ipswich Street, part of Somerset Regional Council’s Esk Visitor Information Centre.

Somerset solar installs continue
Wanora contractors LV Electrical has been awarded tenders to install rooftop solar systems at four Somerset Regional Council sites.
The systems will be installed at the Kilcoy Visitor Information Centre, Kilcoy Memorial Hall, Kilcoy Library and Fernvale Futures Complex.
LV Electrical was last month awarded tenders for solar installs at Somerset Civic Centre, Kilcoy Showgrounds, Lowood Library and Fernvale PCYC.
Visitor centres join Driver Reviver
Three accredited visitor information centres in Somerset have joined the Driver Reviver campaign.
The centres at Fernvale, Toogoolawah and Kilcoy are offering free tea, coffee and snacks for travellers until Monday, 7 October.
The Driver Reviver stations are located inside the information centres at 1483 Brisbane Valley Highway, Fernvale; 29 Factory Road, Toogoolawah; and 41 Hope Street, Kilcoy.

Somerset supports Garage Sale Trail
The Somerset community is backing Australia’s biggest sale trail with more than 35 sites already registered for the event.
The ninth annual Garage Sale Trail will be held on 19 and 20 October, uniting more than 400,000 people across the country.
The multi award-winning sustainability event will encourage reuse, recycling and reduced waste.
