Somerset Regional Council meeting
Somerset Regional Council will hold its final meeting for the year on Thursday, 19 December at Esk.
The meeting will start at 9am in the Simeon Lord Room at the Esk Library in Heap Street.
Meetings are open to the public, and agendas are available at somerset.qld.gov.au.
Somerset centres to close early
Customer service centres and libraries across Somerset will close early on Thursday, 19 December.
Service centres and libraries will close at 1pm in Lowood, 1.30pm in Esk and 2.30pm in Kilcoy.
Toogoolawah Library and Somerset Regional Art Gallery – The Condensery will close at 1.30pm.
Waste facilities will operate as normal.
Huge holiday program in Somerset
Somerset Regional Council has more than 50 activities on offer for the summer school holidays.
Printed programs are available at all customer service centres, libraries and visitor information centres.
See the lights this festive season
Residential, business and community entries from the Somerset Christmas Lights Competition are adding a touch of bright to the night until Thursday, 26 December.
This year’s competition attracted 37 entries from across the region.

Somerset supports Driver Reviver
Three accredited visitor information centres in Somerset have joined the Driver Reviver campaign.
The centres at Fernvale, Toogoolawah and Kilcoy are offering free tea, coffee and snacks for travellers from Friday, 13 to Tuesday, 31 December.
The services will resume for the new year from Friday, 24 to Monday, 27 January.
The centres are at 1483 Brisbane Valley Highway, Fernvale; 29 Factory Road, Toogoolawah; and 41 Hope Street, Kilcoy.

Extended library hours continue
Extended opening hours at Toogoolawah Library will continue into next month.
The Gunyah Street library is open Monday (9am to 12.30pm), Tuesday (9am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 5pm), Wednesday (1pm to 5pm), Thursday (9am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 5pm) and Friday (9am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 5pm).
Somerset Regional Council announced the extended hours trial in June, following community feedback and the release of the Somerset Libraries Strategic Plan 2019 – 2023.

Phone photos at The Condensery
An exhibition exploring the relationship between camera-phone connectivity, photography, art and popular culture is now on show at Somerset Regional Art Gallery – The Condensery.
You Are Here + features the work of Brisbane’s Neil Degney, who has more than 30 years’ experience as a photographer and visual artist.
Somerset Regional Art Gallery – The Condensery is at 29 Factory Road, part of the Toogoolawah Visitor Information Centre.
