Somerset Regional Council Weekly Highlights - 7 February 2020

Published: 7th February 2020

Brisbane Rugby League comes to Esk

The new-look Esk Sport & Recreation Reserve will host a Brisbane Rugby League trial match between the Normanby Hounds and West Brisbane at 6pm tomorrow.

The Hounds will take on Swifts in the curtain raiser at 4pm.

The action continues next Saturday with the Ipswich Jets playing teams from the South West Mustangs and Ipswich Brothers in four games from 11.15am.

Recent works at the Hampton Road reserve include improved grandstand seating, stairs and amenities along with a refurbished clubhouse.

Rain a reminder to clean gutters

The Somerset Region SES Unit has reminded residents to ensure roof gutters are in good condition and free of debris with rain expected to continue into next week.

Gutters and downpipes should be clear so water can drain away, reducing the risk of damage to properties.

Trees should also be trimmed away from gutters, and damaged or loose fittings should be replaced.
