VISITORS to Australia’s longest recreational rail trail in South East Queensland are being encouraged to complete a survey to help guide its development.

Somerset Regional Council and the Department of Transport and Main Roads have partnered with the University of Queensland Business School to survey Brisbane Valley Rail Trail users.

Somerset Mayor Graeme Lehmann said key government agencies involved with the trail would use the responses to help inform management decisions and improve visitor experience of the trail.

“The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail is a huge tourism asset to South East Queensland and, in particular, Somerset because 80% of the trail passes directly through our region,” Cr Lehmann said.

“The purpose of the survey is to profile trail users to provide insights into market awareness, user experience, and user motives, behaviour and spending patterns.”

The survey will capture various information including motivations for visiting the trail, expenditure while on the trail, overall satisfaction with the trail experience and much more.

“We’re really hoping as many visitors as possible complete the survey which will help guide us and how we market, promote and develop the trail to suit trail users.”

Brisbane Valley Rail Trail users can complete the survey before 26 June 2020 by visiting: https://bit.ly/3cX4h0N
