The Somerset Youth Movie Night, which has been postponed on multiple occasions due to COVID restrictions, is now set to take place on 3 September 2021 with doors opening at 6pm at the Toogoolawah Pictures.
The evening commences with a red carpet introduction of the Noosa Film Academy (NFA) youth films created by Somerset youth. Organisers of the event are thrilled to see the screening finally taking place to celebrate local youth and their achievements. NFA representatives will be attending the event and are looking forward to returning to the “warm, welcoming community” they found in Somerset during their work here.
The night is sure to be a hit with the new release movie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (M) announced as the feature film to follow the presentation. Toogoolawah Progress Association President, Tony Coates, was ecstatic with the title secured for the night. “The release date for this movie is 2 September, which is only a day before this special screening, and is an added bonus for our local youth,” Mr Coates said.
As well as the screenings, the evening will include free popcorn and free transport for those coming from outside of Toogoolawah. Free buses are available from Fernvale, Lowood, Coominya, Esk, Harlin and Kilcoy and can be booked online.
The event is open to high school students only, however families of students involved in the NFA youth films are also invited to attend.
Tickets for the event, including bus bookings, are available online at https://somersettickets.com.au/event/youth-movie-night-13812. Tickets are limited and ticket holders are required to comply with all Queensland Health directives in place at the time of the event.
