Register now for Somerset Rail Trail Fun Run or Ride

Registrations for the 19th annual Somerset Rail Trail Fun Run or Ride are now open.

The event will be held on Sunday, 10 July, starting at Clock Park in Lowood and finishing with a post-race festival at Fernvale Sports Park, Brouff Road.

Enjoy a section of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail – Australia’s longest recreational rail trail – by taking part in the 3km or 8km run/walk events or a 20km ride.

Registrations for the fun run or ride, organised by Somerset Regional Council and sponsored by A&M Civil Contracting, can be made online at railtrailfunrun.com.au.

 

Winter School Holiday Program is here

Somerset Regional Council has launched its Winter School Holiday program with an array of activities on offer for the young ones.

Activities include dance, skateboarding, art activities, a mobile game theatre and more.

The program will be run from 25 June to 10 July.

Opening of Stepping Stones Community Wellness Hub

Somerset residents are invited to a free morning tea at the newly refurbished and rebranded Stepping Stones Community Wellness Hub in Esk.

The event will be held on Wednesday, 29 June at 10am at 9 Heap Street, Esk.

A representative from the West Moreton Health Disaster Recovery Team will be in attendance promoting and encouraging self-care.  

 

Update on Mount Glen Rock proposal

Somerset Regional Council has updated the Frequently Asked Questions on the proposed development of Mount Glen Rock in Esk.
Council purchased 127 hectares of freehold property on the western face of the mountain in October 2020.
