Get Free Weather Alerts in Somerset

Somerset Regional Council offers residents the opportunity to receive free alerts for severe weather direct to your phone or email.

Council partnered with the Early Warning Network (EWN) several years ago to deliver an alert service to residents living in Somerset.

The service is free to all Somerset residents through a Council initiative.

A key element of EWNs service is the Geographic Notification and Information System (GNIS) which enables true location based services so residents receive notifications based on their registered or physical location at the time.

To sign up to this free service visit: www.somerset.qld.gov.au/ewn

Summer School Holiday Program online now

The Somerset region’s annual Summer School Holiday Program is now available online with a great range of activities on offer.

The popular program, coordinated by Somerset Regional Council, features roller skating, pool movie nights, art and craft activities, library fun and more.

One of the unique activities included this year is the Esk Roller Disco which skates into town on Friday, 9 December at the carpark of the Somerset Civic Centre in Esk.

The disco is funded by Council but hosted by Rolla Bae.

The event is free and open to anyone five and over and participants are encouraged to bring their own skates (some available for hire) and have a great time. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
