Next Somerset Council meeting

Somerset Regional Council will hold its next and final ordinary meeting for 2022 on Thursday, 15 December.

The meeting will be held at the Kilcoy Explore Centre, 41 Hope Street, Kilcoy.

Meetings are open to the public however attendance is subject to pre-registration.

Residents are requested to email or phone council to register their interest 24 hours prior to a meeting.

Christmas Lights Trail now online for Somerset

The  festive season has arrived in Somerset with 35 residents entering Somerset Regional Council’s annual Somerset Christmas Lights Competition.

Homes and businesses participating in the competition have been encouraged to have their displays turned on nightly until 10pm Wednesday, 26 December 2022. 

A full list of properties that form part of the Somerset Christmas Lights Trail and who entered the Somerset Christmas Lights Competition is available online at www.somerset.qld.gov.au.

 

Funny Mummies brings comic pain relief to Esk

If you are a mum and looking to escape responsibilities for a few hours then head to the Somerset Civic Centre in Esk on 17 December for some comic relief.

Comedian and mum of six, Jenny Wynter, is bringing Funny Mummies Christmas Spectacular to Esk for an afternoon filled with laughter and light.

Ms Wynter, an award-winning comedian, launched Funny Mummies in a mission to improve mothers’ mental health through comedy and laughter.

The Funny Mummies Christmas Spectacular is on 17 December at 2pm at the Somerset Civic Centre in Esk.

Bookings are recommended and can be made online via somersetciviccentre.sales.ticketsearch.com or by visiting the Somerset Civic Centre in Esk during opening hours.

Summer School Holiday Program online now

The Somerset region’s annual Summer School Holiday Program is now available online with a great range of activities on offer.

The popular program, coordinated by Somerset Regional Council, features pool movie nights, art and craft activities, library fun and more.

Properties to be auctioned in Somerset

Somerset Regional Council will be holding a property auction on Friday, 16 December.

Three properties will be offered for sale including 29 Hacienda Crescent at Coominya, 17 Henderson Lane at Biarra and 311 Fernvale Road at Fairney View.

These properties will be sold at auction at 10am, Friday 16 December at the Kilcoy Explore Centre, 41 Hope Street at 10am.
