Somerset Regional Council Deputy Mayor Deputy Helen Brieschke, who was one of the competition judges, said it was great to see so many people getting into the spirit of Christmas.
“Christmas light displays bring so much joy to people of all ages and it is fantastic to see residents and businesses getting on board to help spread the joy and put a smile on everyone’s face,” Cr Brieschke said.
“There’s some impressive displays and this year we had 12 new entrants too which was great to see.
“I would like to say a big thank you to all entrants who have taken the time to decorate their homes or businesses and are helping spread the Christmas cheer in Somerset.
“This is the sixth consecutive year that Council has organised the competition and offered prize money to category winners. It’s all about helping spread the joy of Christmas.”
The 2022 Christmas Light judges were Councillors Helen Brieschke and Jason Wendt and community representatives Patti Jaenke and Sally Wright.
Competition winners will be announced on Friday, 9 December and an updated Christmas Lights Trail list will be uploaded to council’s website.
