HUNDREDS of children and families explored the worlds of science, nature and sustainability at the 2026 Kids Quest, held at the Somerset Civic Centre in Esk on Thursday, 24 September.
Somerset Regional Council’s free school holiday event featured interactive stage shows, wildlife encounters, hands-on science activities and creative challenges that kept young minds engaged throughout the morning.
Families enjoyed performances from Street Science, Go Seek! Children’s Entertainment, Urban Utilities and Elements Collective, while local organisations and exhibitors provided opportunities to learn through play.
Mayor Jason Wendt said more than 300 people came along to Kids Quest.
“So many children were engaged, actively asking questions, trying new activities and discovering more about the world around them,” Cr Wendt said.
“The strong community response highlighted the value of accessible family-friendly events that spark curiosity and creativity in Somerset and as a Council we are proud to be able to deliver these events for the community.”
