Facilities
If you're looking for a space to study, a place to catch up with friends, or somewhere to relax, visit us today. All library branches offer disabled toilets and air conditioning as well as study areas with the availability to charge your own devices. Our libraries also offer dedicated children's areas with toys and other resources. You do not need to be a library member to use our facilities.
Collections
Somerset Libraries membership gives access to a collection of approximately 30,000 physical items. We offer a wide variety of formats including books, graphic novels, large print, audiobooks, DVDs and magazines. We have specific Junior collections including beginner readers and Curiosity Kits. Members can borrow 40 items for a four-week period. Visit our About Us page to learn more about how to become a member and for Frequently Asked Questions.
A Local History reference collection is available at Esk Library to browse. If you need assistance researching local or family history see our local history resources.

State Library Collections
The State Library of Queensland provides a wide range of resources that can be borrowed through your local library. Resources including Book Club Sets, Adult Literacy Resources, Languages Other Than English, Dyslexia, Manga and more collections are available. We can assist you in looking up information, help with your Library account, offer advice on your next great read and much more. We also welcome your comments and feedback.
Computers
Somerset Libraries offers free access to public computers and Wi-Fi. Computers are available for public use for up to 60 minutes at a time. Your membership card or valid ID must be produced to book a computer. To secure a computer for a desired time, we recommend calling ahead to avoid disappointment.
We ask everyone to use these services in a safe, respectful, and responsible way including to:
- be considerate of others, especially when viewing sensitive content
- use headphones for audio or video
- keep noise and behaviour respectful
- follow all directions from Library staff
Printing and Photocopying
Somerset Libraries offers printing and photocopying services available for a small fee. Files can be printed from the library computers or via Wi-Fi on your own device to our printers. Printing and photocopying is charged per side, per day. Libraries also offer Scanning and Laminating services. Please note, our libraries do not have faxing facilities. Customers must not copy, print, scan, download or record Library materials in any way that infringes the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).

Library App
Library members can manage their library account with ease using the Somerset On the Go library app. Members can search the library catalogue, self-checkout using their device, renew and reserve items, and book into events at Somerset Libraries. There are plenty of features in the app for users to explore including suggesting items for purchase and links to access other Council services.

Events
Somerset Libraries runs and hosts a variety of events and programs for all ages. View the event calendar to view upcoming events.
JP’s in the Community
The JP’s in the Community program is offered at some Library branches. If you need to have documents witnessed and verified, drop in to one of the sessions offered. Bookings are not needed, visit the event calendar to find the next session time.
