TOURISM is booming in Somerset, with more people choosing to spend their holidays exploring the region.

The launch of a new visitor guide and destination video follows Toogoolawah being named Queensland’s Top Tiny Tourism Town for 2026, adding to the region’s growing reputation as a visitor destination.

The new guide builds on this momentum by showcasing Somerset’s villages, the region’s country lifestyle and small batch food scene.

Experience Somerset, the destination brand of Somerset Regional Council, launched the new guide on Thursday night, 23 July.

Somerset tourism operators, visitor information centre volunteers, industry partners and Councillors attended the launch event at Splityard Social in Fernvale.

Somerset Regional Council Mayor Jason Wendt said that the new visitor guide would put Somerset front-of-mind for holidaymakers in a competitive tourism industry.

“Toogoolawah’s recent victory in the Top Tiny Tourism Town Awards demonstrated that Somerset’s communities and tourism experiences can compete with the best in Queensland,” Cr Wendt said.

“We’re inviting people to slow down in Somerset, to celebrate our relaxed lifestyles where weekends are spent lingering over coffee, wandering through our villages, enjoying our lakes, and discovering the simple pleasures of country life.”
