Free Tree Days

Free Tree Days will be held between 8am and 11am at the following locations and dates:

1. Fernvale - Fernvale Community hall - Saturday, 17 October 2026
2. Kilcoy – Kilcoy Memorial Hall - Saturday, 31 October 2026
3. Esk – Somerset Civic Centre - Saturday, 14 November 2026

Free tree vouchers will be attached to your rates notice, posted to you in August 2026.

All residents will be able to redeem a pre-packed selection of 10 native plants upon presentation of the free tree voucher. These plants will be flowering and bird attracting plant species suitable for residential home gardens.

Resident with properties over 8 hectares will be able to redeem an additional 10 pre-packed native trees. These trees will be larger native tree species suitable for bigger properties and will include koala and wildlife habitat species.

The Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation will have a koala information stall at each event.

Free Sausage Sizzle

The free sausage sizzle will begin at 8am at each event. A sausage in sliced bread and a drink will be provided to residents attending the event on a ‘first come, first served’ basis until catering is exhausted.

Free Wildlife Show

There will be wildlife shows at each event, beginning 8.30am.

Council will also have a DETSI koala stall at each Free Tree Day, raising awareness about koala habitat.
