Puppet Construction workshop with the Dead Puppet Society

Create your own puppet in this hands-on Puppet Construction Workshop, where you will design, prototype and build your very own puppet, guided by the incredible Dead Puppet Society – whose designs are featured in The Wider Earth.

Using accessible brown paper construction techniques, participants will move through a guided design process, from initial concept sketches to prototyping and final build, resulting in a one-of-a-kind creature ready for performance. Along the way, participants will be introduced to simple puppet mechanisms and explore the core principles of puppetry, including Focus, Breath and Gravity, as well as the hierarchy of manipulation.

This workshop blends creativity with practical skill-building, encouraging participants to think about both character and movement as they construct a fully functional puppet.

Ages 8 years and up (all children to be accompanied by parent or guardian).
