KIDS QUEST

Family fun will be discovered these September holidays. Kids across the Somerset Region can join the quest to immerse themselves in science, nature and our environment at the Somerset Kids Quest.

Entertainment for the day includes 4 stage shows - Urban Utilities Water Ranger Vs Walter, Elements Collective Demo Battle, Go seek! Protectors of the Planet and Street Science Seriously Fun Science.

Also included in the day will be family friendly activities - Geckoes Wildlife Animal Encounters, Street Science Drop-in Science Lab (9am to 10.30am only), The Condensery – Somerset Regional Art Gallery Reverse Garbage Creation Station, Somerset Libraries Lego Challenge, Active Backyards with Bee Keeping and Earth Worm Farm, Let’s Face It Face Painting, plus 12 family resource exhibitors.

Kids can also enter the Kids Quest Colouring In / Free Hand Animal Drawing competition. With 2 prize packs on offer - best Colouring In and best Free Hand Animal Drawing, will be awarded on the day.

Plus one lucky family attending Kids Quest will win a lucky door prize; a Family Pass to Australia Zoo.

Kids Quest is a family friendly event for the entire family to enjoy.

Stage Shows

9:00am - Water Ranger Vs Walter

Urban Utilities Water Ranger reminds us of the value of water and how precious it is. We meet the mischievous puppet 'Wasteful Walter', the leaking tap, who loves to rap and waste water. Kids, mums and dads will enjoy this singing and dancing show.

9:45am - Elements Collective Demo Battle

Elements Collective Breaking Demo Battle is a fun, interactive experience for all ages. We kick things off with a quick introduction to Breaking and Hip Hop culture, showing the audience the basics, how the body moves, the main elements of Breaking, and what makes a battle so exciting. We then wrap things up with our professional B-boy and B-girl throwing down their best moves in a high-energy demo battle, with the crowd joining in as the judges for a fun experience everyone can be part of.

10:30am - Go Seek! Protectors of the Planet

When the Star Galaxy News discovers that Planet Earth has become too polluted, they send Go Seek on a mission to check it out. But when Flynn’s spaceship gets trapped in all the rubbish, it soon becomes a race against time to report back their findings! Go Seek and the children set off on an exciting musical adventure to become Official Protectors of the Planet. Along the way they discover fun ways to clean up and protect the Earth, free Spinner, and ultimately save the planet!

11:15am - Street Science - Seriously Fun Science

Since 2012, Street Science has been on a mission to unlock the potential of the next generation of science problem solvers. Seriously Fun Science is guaranteed to wow children and adults alike, as Street Science share scientific principles in ways that impact all five senses and will keep kids talking for days.

Kids Quest Colouring In and Free Hand Animal Drawing Competition

Somerset kids are invited to enter the Kids Quest Colouring In or Free Hand Animal Drawing competition, with a prize pack for the best Colouring In (worth $80.00) and the best Free Hand Animal Drawing (worth $120.00).

Please return this entry form to either the Somerset Civic Centre, any of the Somerset Regional Council's Customer Service Centres at Esk, Kilcoy or Lowood, or mail to Somerset Regional Council, PO Box 117, Esk Qld 4312 by Friday 18 September. The Winner of the 2026 Kids Quest colouring in and free hand animal drawing competition will be drawn at Kids Quest, Thursday 24 September.
