Stephanie Laycock is a third-generation local, proudly raised in the Somerset region.
She was appointed to the role of Somerset councillor in September 2025 following a by-election.
She is deeply involved in her community and contributes to the Esk and Toogoolawah Show Societies, Toogoolawah Junior Cattle Competition, Toogoolawah Droughtmaster Futurity, and facilitates Rural Ambassador and Showgirl workshops.
Together with her family, Stephanie runs a stud and commercial cattle operation spanning Esk, Eskdale, and Linville, specialising in bull sales and advanced reproductive cattle work including IVF. Alongside her agricultural career, she operates a photography business for the ag sector.
With a Bachelor of Agribusiness and Bachelor of Sustainable Agriculture, Stephanie is passionate about supporting smart development while preserving the region’s rural character. Her key local government interests include road safety and infrastructure, education and business support.
