Federal cuts to disaster recovery will cost Somerset millions

Disaster funding cuts will cost Somerset ratepayers

Somerset Regional Council has joined a growing chorus of Queensland local governments calling for the Commonwealth Government to scrap proposed changes to the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

BoM Weather App to become Somerset’s primary weather warning service

Somerset Regional Council is encouraging residents to download the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) Weather App and subscribe to its new national warning service as the region’s primary source of weather alerts.
Council will discontinue its subscription to the Early Warning Network (EWN) on 31 August 2026.
