The Inaugural Annual Dance Affair

Celebrating 10 years of the Somerset Civic Centre

We're inviting you to put on your dancing shoes for the ultimate birthday bash!

The Inaugural Annual Dance Affair is an all ages performance event that immerses everyone in an evening of old time and new time dance floor magic.

Created with and for the local community, this event is a celebration of Somerset’s dance culture, local history and stories of place. The night features a cracking live band, a charming emcee, light footed guest stars and heart-warming real stories from local community legends.

You’ll enjoy showcases from local dance groups with everything from a cheeky cha cha to old time waltz or a funky freestyling groove. Plus you too can have a dance! But don’t worry you’ll be armed with a tool kit of essential dancing moves.

The evening will also feature an interative display of ten community stories facilitated by the QLD Writers Centre and The Somerset Writers Group, as well as a Garden of Light installation, created by origami artist Makiko Ramsey and local school children of all ages.

Plus there will be prizes, supper, a Belle of the Ball award and of course, a meat tray. So get out your best threads and get ready to shine!

No dance experience necessary, this is a great night out for everyone.

Doors open at 7pm, show commencing from 7.30pm
