Have Your Say - Fernvale Sports Park Master Plan

Background

Since its construction in 2016 the Fernvale Sports Park has provided valuable sporting facilities and recreation space for Fernvale and surrounding areas.  Currently the Sports Park includes four netball courts, an Australian rules football and cricket oval, cricket training nets, football field, an amenities building and a three bay storage shed.

Since its construction, significant upgrades have been made to the facility. A turf wicket and three lane cricket nets were added in early 2021. In June 2021, LED lighting fixtures were installed on the main oval. In September 2021, building works were completed to extend the existing amenities building to include a kiosk, meeting space, referee change rooms and storage facilities.

To ensure the Fernvale Sports Park continues to improve and service community needs, Somerset Regional Council has developed the Fernvale Sports Park draft Master Plan. The Master Plan document provides a long-term vision to guide future investment, management and growth of the site.

To help inform further revisions to the draft Master Plan, Council is seeking feedback from the Somerset community via the ‘Have Your Say’ survey. Council encourages all community members and stakeholders to have their say and help inform the future development of the Sports Park

The draft master plan has been developed under advice from Fernvale Sports Park Advisory Committee which comprises representation from Council, the Somerset Storm Netball Club, Fernvale Rattlers AFL Club, Marburg Mount Crosby Cricket Club and Fernvale State School

The Have Your Say for the Fernvale Sports Park Draft Master Plan is available for completion until Friday 28 July 2023.
