Currently the longest rail trail in Australia, the 161 km Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BVRT) follows the disused Brisbane Valley rail line from Wulkuraka to Yarraman. Somerset Regional Councils continued investment in the BVRT now looks toward Linville and the section of BVRT through town which it visited daily by those utilising the Rail Trail or others just want to stop in Linville for a few hours.
To ensure the BVRT in Linville continues to improve and service growing community needs, Somerset Regional Council has developed the a draft Master Plan. The Master Plan document provides a long-term vision to guide future investment, management and growth of the site.
To help inform further revisions to the draft Master Plan, Council is seeking feedback from the community via the ‘Have Your Say’ survey. Council encourages all community members and stakeholders to have their say and help inform the future development of the BVRT in Linville
The draft master plan has been developed following discussions between Council, the Department of Transport and Main Roads, the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail steering committee, Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Ambassadors and Local Businesses.
