Somerset Region Planning Scheme - Major Amendment 2

Consultation for the Somerset Region Planning Scheme - Major Amendment 2 is now closed.

Somerset Regional Council is proposing a major amendment to the Somerset Region Planning Scheme, titled ‘Major Amendment 2’.

The purpose of Major Amendment 2 is to update a range of policy matters and provisions throughout the planning scheme, including for new homes, residential subdivisions, short-stay accommodation and home-based businesses, as well as updating the planning scheme to comply with Queensland Government policy and mapping updates.

Public Consultation Period

Public consultation for the Somerset Region Planning Scheme - Major Amendment 2 opened Tuesday, 4 November 2025 and closed Friday, 5 December 2025.


Submissions

Any person may make a submission to Council about any aspect of the Somerset Region Planning Scheme - Major Amendment 2 during the public consultation period.

A properly made submission must:

  • be signed by each person making the submission;
  • be received by Council on or before 5 December 2025;
  • state the full name and residential or business address of each person making the submission;
  • state the grounds of the submission and the facts and circumstances relied on in support of the grounds;
  • state a postal or electronic address for service relating to the submission for each person making the submission; and
  • be made to Somerset Regional Council. 

Submissions can also be made:
