An initiative of the State Library of Queensland, First 5 Forever is a universal family literacy program aimed at supporting stronger language and literacy environments for young children from 0–5 years and their families.

First 5 Forever will directly support parents and primary caregivers to be confident as the child’s first and most important teacher, and will provide parents with increased access to resources they need through public libraries.

At Somerset Libraries, we provide families access to two regular First 5 Forever programs: Storytime and Toddler Tuesday.

In addition to our regular inhouse First 5 Forever programs, you might also find us out and about in the community providing outreach services. We often make appearances at the local shows, Under 8s Days, and even your local playground or kindergarten.
